PURPOSE: A rear-airbag device with improved safety performance is provided to stably protect the occipital area of a passenger in rear-end collision since a plate unit supports the rear of an airbag cushion. CONSTITUTION: A rear-airbag device with improved safety performance comprises a collision sensor, a control unit, a rear-seat airbag module(100), and a support unit(200). When an electrical signal input from the collision sensor is over a reference value, the control unit transmits a control signal. The rear-seat airbag module is built in a seat(30) and receives the control signal from the control unit for inflation. The rear-seat airbag is protruded to the upper part of the seat to protect the occipital area of a passenger. When the rear-seat airbag module is inflated to the upper part of the seat, the support unit is slid and rises.
