PURPOSE: A transfer device for a reinforcing bar and an operation method thereof are provided to automatically and simultaneously transfer multiple reinforcing bars from a roller table to a binding device. CONSTITUTION: A transfer device for a reinforcing bar comprises a top frame(32), a rail(33), and a C carrier(34). The top frame is installed in a main frame(31) to be liftable through a lift device. The rail is installed on the top frame. The C carrier is moved along the rail back and forth. The lift device comprises a pivot arm(36) and a hydraulic cylinder(35). The pivot arm is installed in the main frame and ascends and descends the top frame. The hydraulic cylinder is installed in the top frame and rotates the pivot arm.
