<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin optical pickup which can support three types of optical discs and which comprises two object lenses. <P>SOLUTION: An optical pickup which can support a first optical disc, a second optical disc, and a third optical disc comprises: a first objective lens 17 used in supporting the first optical disc; a second objective lens 23 used in supporting the second optical disc and the third optical disc; and an actuator capable of moving the first objective lens 17 and the second objective lens 23 in a focus direction which is a direction of approaching the optical disc. The second objective lens 23 is a diffraction lens and is designed such that a second working distance WD2, which is a working distance in design in supporting the second optical disc, approaches a third working distance WD3, which is a working distance in design in supporting the third optical disc. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
