<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spectral instrument enabling satisfactory measurement of a signal-to-noise ratio over a continuous, wide frequency range. <P>SOLUTION: The spectral instrument includes: a board area semiconductor laser 1, which is a light source for incoherent light; a pair of lenses 2a and 2b for condensing incoherent light in parallel; a pinhole member 6 with a pinhole through which incoherent light, passed through the pair of lenses 2a and 2b, passes; a beam splitter 7 for splitting the incoherent light passed through the pinhole into two; a photoconduction element 8 for electromagnetic wave radiation, for radiating a first electromagnetic wave based on the emission of one of two incoherent light beams obtained by splitting; and a photoconduction element 9 for electromagnetic wave detection, to which second electromagnetic wave obtained by transmitting or reflecting the first electromagnetic wave through or from a sample and the other of the two incoherent beams are made incident on, and which obtains a signal for cross-correlation between the second electromagnetic wave and the other incoherent light. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
