<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize inferior cleaning caused by a change in a cleaning condition due to generation of an image defect by deformation of an image carrier and of permanent strain of a cleaning member even if a process cartridge is stored separated from an image forming apparatus body. <P>SOLUTION: At least an image carrier 61K and a cleaning member 62K coming into pressure contact with the surface of the image carrier and cleaning the surface are supported by a casing 70, and a process cartridge 106K is detachably attached to an image forming apparatus main body 101. In the process cartridge, the image carrier is movable between a first position shown by a chain double-dashed line which comes into pressure contact with the cleaning member 62K, and a second position shown by a solid line in which pressure contact state with the cleaning member 62K is weakened, and is adapted to occupy the first position when being mounted on the image forming apparatus body. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
