<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polarizer and a liquid crystal display device using the polarizer that can be stably manufactured by optimizing a haze value of one of protective films of the polarizer to secure visibility when using polyethylene terephthalate resin for the protective film, thinning the protective film while having mechanical strength, heat resistance and humidity resistance, and optimizing film thickness relationship with the other one of the protective films to protect the film from curling during the manufacturing process. <P>SOLUTION: In a polarizer arranged on a visible side of a liquid crystal cell, polyethylene terephthalate resin with a haze value between 1%-14% is used for a first protective film arranged on a front surface side and triacetyl cellulose resin is used for a second protective film arranged on a liquid crystal cell side. A thickness of the second protective film is to be 0.2 times to 1.6 times thicker than a thickness of the first protective film. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
