<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent erroneous assembling by surely discriminating the type of an ignition coil in a state that is embedded into a cylinder head in the engine assembling process of this type. <P>SOLUTION: An ignition coil determination device 5 is embedded into a vehicle internal combustion engine, to determine a type of an ignition coil for supplying a high voltage for making an ignition plug generate an electric discharge. The ignition coil determination device 5 includes: a voltage waveform detection means 6 for detecting the waveform of a voltage generated on the primary side of the ignition coil when making the ignition plug discharge electricity; a storage means 7 for storing the waveform of a voltage generated on the primary side of various ignition coil beforehand; and a determination means 8 for discriminating the type of the ignition coil based on the detection information of the voltage waveform, detected by the voltage waveform detection means 6, and the stored information of the voltage waveform stored the storage means 7. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
