Provided are an alga in which the production of photosynthetic products is improved, and the use for said alga. The alga of the present invention has an increased glutathione concentration in the chloroplast. Moreover, the biomass production method of the present invention produces biomass by using the alga of the present invention or alga produced by means of the alga production method of the present invention.
