<p>An electronic content management server (20), which is connected to a plurality of user terminals via a communication network to manage the use of electronic contents, is provided with a right of use information database for storing the right of use information for an electronic content, wherein a CPU (21) manages the plurality of user terminals such that each user terminal can use only an electronic content for which each user terminal has the right of use on the basis of the right of use information stored in the right of use information database, and when, of the plurality of user terminals, a first user terminal proposes to a second user terminal to temporarily lend the right of use for an electronic content owned by the first user terminal, the right of use for the electronic content is temporarily lent to the second user terminal by changing the right of use information for the electronic content in the right of use information database.
