PURPOSE: Device and method of controlling the unfolding of an outside mirror for a vehicle are provided to prevent damage to an outside mirror due to contact with obstacles since if the distance between the side of a vehicle and an obstacle is below a reference value, the unfolding of the outside mirror is prevented. CONSTITUTION: A device of controlling the unfolding of an outside mirror for a vehicle comprises a distance sensor(10), a control unit(12), a power window unit(14), and a smart-key control unit(16). The distance sensor is mounted on the side of the vehicle and senses the distance between the vehicle and an obstacle. The control unit receives the sensing signal of the distance sensor and determines the unfolding state of an outside mirror(20). The power window unit is connected to the control unit. The power window unit receives the unfolding command signal of the control unit. |
