<p>The present invention is configured so that, even if a web has deformation such as a bend in the longitudinal direction thereof and partial slackening, the present invention applies a coating liquid on the web to form a uniform thin film thereon while preventing the occurrence of uneven coating caused by the deformation. A web coating device for applying on the surface of a traveling web (2) a coating liquid discharged from a slit-shaped discharge opening (5) of a coating liquid supply means (4), the slit-shaped discharge opening (5) extending in the width direction of the web (2). The web coating device is configured in such a manner that a pressurizing chamber or a depressurizing chamber (12) having one face formed by the traveling web (2) is provided at a position either on the upstream side and/or on the downstream side of the slit-shaped discharge opening (5) with respect to the direction of travel of the web (2), and also in such a manner that the web (2) which is passing through the pressurizing chamber or the depressurizing chamber (12) is supported so that the web (2) can be partially displaced (16) in the direction in which the web (2) approaches and is separated from the inside of the pressurizing chamber or the depressurizing chamber.</p> |
