PURPOSE: A system for processing a card transaction using an electronic code image and a terminal device thereof are provided to electronically output a code image on one side of a card, thereby processing a card transaction by recognizing a code image through a camera of the terminal device. CONSTITUTION: If an encoding bit string is electronically outputted on one side of a card by an image, a code image recognizing unit(555) recognizes a code image by a camera to extract the encoding bit string. An authentication unit(560) performs set authentication to effectively extract a card identification value from the encoding bit string. A bit string reading unit(565) extracts an effective card identification value from the encoding bit string.
