<p>Intraocular Lens which after being implanted during a cataract surgery or another ophthalmic surgery, can be adjusted its dioptric power by the application of Laser. The haptics (2) of the lens have arched components made of a flexible material of appropriate elasticity, strength, memory and biocompatibility. Their curves are placed in an opposed anterior-posterior direction, so their antagonistic forces compensate the bends of each other and the haptic remains straight. When weakening with laser one of the arched components the other one on its side takes its original arched shape bending the haptic and displacing the lens optic selectively to the front or back, moving it away or nearer to the retina, correcting in this way a refractive defect or changing to a more wanted refraction. This adjustment can be done from days to years after surgery.</p> |
