Method for trimming an ophthalmic lens

The method involves dividing a longitudinal profile characterizing desired shape of contour of an ophthalmic lens (10), into a first final arc and a second arc. Contour portions (E1, E2) of the lens are respectively brought to shapes of the arcs by finishing such that a lens section has transverse profiles of different shapes on the portions. Position of initial singular points is corrected to obtain final singular points delimiting the final arc, during division step. The final arc is truncated to reduce its length with respect to that of an initial arc extending between the initial points.
