PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display apparatus and a driving method thereof are provided to improve a halo phenomenon by operating a light emitting diode using an active matrix method. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal panel displays an image. A light emitting diode unit(LEDU) comprises a light emitting diode array, a current mirror circuit(CMC), a first switching circuit(SWC1), a plurality of by-pass wirings, and a plurality of second switching circuits(SWC2). The current mirror circuit is connected to the light emitting diode array. The by-pass wirings are respectively connected to the light emitting diodes in parallel. The current mirror circuit supplies light emitting current to the light emitting diode array. |
