N-(3-hydroxy-4-piperidinyl) benzamide and derivs. of formula I [R1=H, lower alkyl, Ar1-lower alkyl etc.; R2=H, lower alkyl; R3=R4=R5=H, lower alkyl, lower alkyloxy, OH, CN, NO2, NH2, etc.! were described. (I) are stimulants that mobilize the gastrointestinal system and so are useful for normalizing or improving the gastric and intestinal emptying in subjects suffering from decreased peristalsis of the stomach and/or intestines. |
