A drain pipe for filling container-shaped filling receptacles, such as bottles, with a liquid, in which the drain pipe is preferably connected to a metering pump, and in which it is intended that the liquid in question should run through the drain pipe and be shut off when removing and exchanging the filling receptacles in question. The object of the invention is to provide a device for a drain pipe of a type by means of which dribbling and dripping can be prevented, especially in connection with the removal and exchange of the filling receptacles. According to the invention a suction duct 14 is connected to the drain pipe 1, the suction duct opening out in the vicinity of the bottom end of the drain pipe and being designed to be activated in such a way that it creates a suction effect, at least during the above-mentioned shut-off of the flow of liquid through the drain pipe. <IMAGE>
