The present invention is related to an aqueous cleansing composition for keratin fibres especially human hair with excellent conditioning effects. Accordingly, first object of the present invention is an aqueous cleansing composition for keratin fibres, especially human hair, comprising at least one foaming surfactant selected from anionic, non-ionic and amphoteric ones and at least one dipeptide. The most preferred dipeptide is carnosine and is of ß-alanin and L-histidine.
