A free-standing vertical structure is described including at least one wall structure (20) having a plurality of live plants (40) removably secured thereto. The wall structures (20) may also include non- botanic media (50) in combination with the plurality of plants (40) such as traditional media, to form a new mixed media format for conveying information, herein referred to as botanic media. The plurality of plants (40)may be configured to surround the non-botanic media (50) to create a frame or border. The plants may also be arranged and configured to display information themselves. The non-botanic media (50) and/or plants (40) are configured on the wall structure (20) to convey information readily perceivable by a passerby. The plants are preferably hydroponically-f ed with nutrients and water from an irrigation system. |
