The present invention relates to a liquid crystal display including a pixel electrode (191) including a first subpixel electrode (191a) and a second subpixel electrode (191b) spaced apart with a gap (91) therebetween, a common electrode (270) facing the pixel electrode (191), and a liquid crystal layer (3) formed between the pixel electrode (191) and the common electrode (270) and including a plurality of liquid crystal molecules (310). The first and second subpixel electrodes (191a,191b) include a plurality of branches (194a-d), and each of the first and second subpixel electrodes (191a,191b) includes a plurality of subregions (D a -D d ). The branches (194a-d) extend in different directions in different subregions (D a -D d ).
