<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light pulse measuring instrument for performing measurement by simple labor and structure without affecting communication. <P>SOLUTION: In the light pulse measuring instrument, reception levels of light, which comes from optical fiber 2 and is received by a light receiving part 5 for a prescribed definite period of time, are added and averaged by an averaging part 6 before pulse light is emitted from a pulse light source 4. If a reception level obtained by the adding-averaging exceeds a prescribed threshold, the optical fiber 2 is determined to be in process of communication, and measurement by the pulse light is terminated by disabling the emission of the pulse light from the light source 4. If the reception level obtained by the adding-averaging is equal to or less than the prescribed threshold, the optical fiber 2 is determined not to be in process of communication, and the measurement by the pulse light is executed by starting the emission of the pulse light from the light source 4. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
