Method for performing a cooking process

The method involves adjusting cycle time as period of a cycle comprising two rotation direction changes based on a parameter of a cooking process, where another rotation direction change is performed between the former changes. Minimum cycle period and maximum cycle period are provided independent of a parameter of the cooking process based on a characteristic variable and/or an operating parameter of a cooking device. The cycle time is selected equal to or longer than predetermined minimum cycle time of more than zero seconds and shorter than predetermined maximum cycle time.
