The present invention provides a gateway apparatus, method, and program capable of achieving voice communication between a terminal connected to an access point in a home and an existing terminal connected to a circuit switching equipment on a mobile circuit switched network by having the access point operate in the manner of a radio network controller (RNC) and connecting the access point to the circuit switch. A gateway apparatus 110, which connects an installed access point 145 to a circuit switching equipment 135 (or a second gateway apparatus) on a mobile circuit switched network 130 to perform voice communication, receives at least one of a call control signal and a packet that has voice data stored therein in a predetermined protocol or payload format from the access point 145, converts at least one of a protocol of the call control signal and a protocol or payload format of the packet into the same protocol as a circuit switched protocol used when a radio network controller (RNC) 138 connects to the circuit switching equipment 135 (the second gateway apparatus) for output to the circuit switching equipment 135 (the second gateway apparatus), receives at least one of a call processing signal that uses a protocol same as a protocol which is used when the circuit switching equipment 135 (the second gateway apparatus) outputs to the radio network controller 138 and a voice signal that uses the same protocol, converts at least one protocol of the call processing signal and the voice signal received for output to the access point 145. |
