PURPOSE: A GUI(Graphical User Interface) providing method for a portable terminal and apparatus thereof are provided to enable a user to easily confirm text inputted to a media by enabling the media to select an attached file. CONSTITUTION: A touch sensing unit(141) senses the touch input signal of a user. A display unit(142) displays a text section which inputs a text and a media section which displays a media. When the media is selected by a user, a control unit(160) arranges the selected media at the media area and displays the media. When a text input signal is recognized from the text area, the control unit displays the text and matches the text with the selected media.
