The modular building construction system comprises one or more box shaped modules 1 each with a frame comprising at least four vertical members 41 located at the ends of the module and connected at their top and bottoms by horizontal members 42,43. The vertical members have connection fittings 21 mounted and positioned to be compliant with International Standards Organisation (ISO) dimensions for shipping containers although the container itself maybe of non-standard size. One or more vertical members may comprise an inner column and a detachable outer column to which the connection fixture is mounted. Each module may contain additional joists 414, bracing elements 44 and intermediate vertical members 411. A prefabricated roof may be provided which spans a number of modules. A locking system may be provided to connect adjacent container's connection fittings. Also claimed were a locking device, a ground fixing point, a recoverable external support, a sound insulation element and a gasket. |
