A soft collecting bag 1 for a negative pressure wound therapy system has a liquid absorber 20 and one or more ventilation ports (13, figure 1) covered on the inside by a gas permeable membrane (14, figure 1). The collecting bag can be connected to a wound-dressing unit 51 via an inlet connecting tube 31 and connected to a pressure sensor 53 via a detecting connecting tube 41. The inlet incorporates a water-resisting membrane (15, figure 1). A pump 52 draws exudates from the wound and directs them into the collecting bag until the pressure sensor detects that the bag is full. Multiple bags can be linked together by intermediary connecting sets (60, figure 3). Preferably the liquid absorber 20 is made from polyvinyl alcohol or super absorbent polymer. |
