MODIFICATION OF CARBOHYDRATES USING CONTINUOUS GENERATION OF HYDROXYL RADICALS

PURPOSE: A reforming method of carbon hydrate is provided to generate hydroxy radicals by using the combination of strong UV and a very low amount of peroxide reaction. CONSTITUTION: A reforming method of carbon hydrate comprises: a step of forming carbonate slurry by using solvent; and a step of reacting the carbonate to hydroxyl radical. The hydroxyl radical is generated through the photolysis of peroxide in the solution by using UV. The ratio of the UV to the peroxide is about 20-500 watts/g. The ratio of the peroxide of the carbonate is about 0.1-2.5 %wt/wt. The solid percentage of the carbonate slurry is 30-50 %.
