PURPOSE: A teeth die turning and returning apparatus of a gear forging machine is provided to manufacture the undercut gear teeth of a gear very rapidly and precisely since a compressing stroke by a ram and the rotation of a teeth die holder and a teeth die are synchronized easily and completely. CONSTITUTION: A teeth die turning and returning apparatus of a gear forging machine comprises a teeth die holder(15), a driving ring(17), levers(1a,1b), supporters(31a,31b), and air cylinders(25a,25b). The teeth die holder is installed on a lower table(13) and holds a teeth die(51). Expandable arms(19a,19b) are radially formed on the outer circumferential surface of the driving ring, and the inner circumferential surface of the driving ring is fixed to the outer circumferential surface of the teeth die holder. The lever consists of horizontal and vertical arms. A pin hole is formed at the intersection of the vertical and horizontal arms.
