PURPOSE: An avatar providing service using a facial expression and gesture and a method thereof are provided to recognize a user expression and gesture while performing communication, convert the recognized information into 3D avatar, and transmit the avatar to other party terminal. CONSTITUTION: A face recognition unit(110) detects a user image which is transmitted from a first user terminal(101) from a face area. The face recognition unit detects facial feature information from the detected face area. The face recognition unit senses the change of facial expression and gesture. An avatar generator(120) creates an avatar by modeling an avatar which is mapped with the detected facial feature points. |
