PURPOSE: A car head lamp and a control method thereof are provided to prevent a crash accident by forming a light distribution pattern which is compatible with the location of an object. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of light sources(30) irradiates light. The light source comprises a first light source to a fifth light source. A lens refracts the light which is irradiated from the light source. A camera(10) senses an object by taking a photograph of the front side of a vehicle for a fixed time at set times. A driving unit changes the distance of the light source and the lens. A controller(80) selects the light source which forms a light distribution pattern which is compatible with the location of the object by determining an image. The controller transmits a lighting signal.
