PURPOSE: A vertical slot type fishway and a construction method thereof are provided to reduce construction time and to improve work convenience by manufacturing the vertical slot type fishway in a plant. CONSTITUTION: A vertical slot type fishway(30) comprises a bottom plane(31), first and second non-overflow walls(32,33), and a waterway. The bottom plane has coupling grooves(31a) and fishway connection grooves(31b). The coupling grooves are coupled to footing concrete. The fishway connection grooves are connected to the fishway connection grooves of another fishway. The first and second non-overflow walls are formed on the bottom plane and control the flux and flow rate of water. The waterway is formed in a size corresponding to a distance between the first and second non-overflow walls.
