The utensil has a metal cover functional part (10) whose fixing rod (10A) is fixed to a handle (12). A metal ring (14) presents a longitudinal skirt (16), which surrounds a proximal part (12A) of the handle near the functional part. The skirt of the ring presents two longitudinal prolongations (20A, 20B), which cover respectively surfaces (22A, 22B) of a proximal part (12A) of the handle located on two longitudinal faces (13A, 13B) of the proximal part. The proximal part of the handle includes two longitudinal reinforcements located on two longitudinal faces, respectively. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a domestic utensil.
