The system (1) has four dissociable elements (2a, 2b, 3a, 3b) forming a square shaped closed contour when the elements are assembled together. Rotational mobility of the elements along a rotational direction tending to close the contour, is limited by supporting transverse edges of front faces (12) of the elements on one another, when the elements are assembled together. Each element is fabricated by folding and cutting a sheet blank, without welding. The elements are articulated together at the level of their corresponding ends (E2a, E2b, E3a, E3b). Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a formwork assembly comprising boards (2) a method for casting a column.
