The device has first conductors e.g. collecting conductors (12), oriented along a direction, where the first conductors are discontinuous and interrupted at interconnection zones (14). A second conductor electrically connects the first conductors with each other at the zones, where the second conductor is a metal strip e.g. copper strip, metal plate, or conductor formed by printing. The zones are aligned along another direction different from the former direction, such that the second conductor is extended from one end to another end of a plate (11) e.g. wafer, along the latter direction. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for forming electrical conductors on a plate using a stencil-type metal mask (2) a method for fabricating a photovoltaic cell.
