The system has a fixed station (F) for modifying wheel base of a bogie, where the fixed station includes a transition area (Z2) in which base of two running rails (80) varies in a symmetrical and regular manner with respect to a median axis of a path. Two electricity conductive rails (81) are arranged in parallel and between the two running rails along the length of the station.
