PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing system that, in the presence of two information processing apparatuses each having a camera and a monitor, displays images captured by the cameras on the monitors such that users can view them stereoscopically.

SOLUTION: A message reception section 201 receives a message. An image reception section 202 receives a right eye image of first stereo pair images 401 from one game apparatus and receives a left eye image from the other game apparatus. An image generation section 203 generates second stereo pair images 402 providing a stereoscopically emerging view of the received message. An image synthesis section 204 synthesizes the first stereo pair images 401 and the second stereo pair images 402 to produce third stereo pair images 403. A display section 205 displays a right eye image of the third stereo pair images 403 on a screen of one game apparatus and displays a left eye image on a screen of the other game apparatus.
