METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR BACKUPING WIRELESS SENSOR NETWORK GATEWAYS

A method for backuping Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) gateways is provided in the present invention. A WSN connects with a communication network through the WSN gateways; backup WSN gateways are set for the WSN gateways. The method includes: supervising the currently working WSN gateways; when the working WSN gateways are faulty, making the backup WSN gateways of the faulty WSN gateways replace the faulty WSN gateways. A system for backuping the WSN gateways is also provided in the present invention. The system is applied to the network in which the WSN connects with the communication network through the WSN gateways, and includes: a setting unit used to set the backup WSN gateways for the WSN gateways, a supervision unit used to supervise the currently working WSN gateways, a determination unit used to determine whether the working WSN gateways are faulty, and trigger a replacement unit when the working WSN gateways are faulty, and the replacement unit used to make the backup WSN gateways of the faulty WSN gateways replace the faulty WSN gateways. The present invention guarantees the normal and reliable operation of the combination network which consists of the WSN and the communication network.
