<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute data transfer with multiplicity suitable to a line. <P>SOLUTION: A disk array apparatus has a disk group storing data and stores, for each line to which a transfer destination device is connected, the upper limit of the multiplicity with which data can be transferred in a multiple manner by the line, the transfer destination device being the destination of data stored in the disk group. The disk array apparatus acquires the upper limit stored in association with the line, to which the destination device of the data transfer is connected, when executing data transfer. Also, the disk array apparatus acquires the present multiplicity with which data is transferred at present by the line.
