PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wastewater treatment method and wastewater treatment apparatus capable of preventing the coating material scale from sticking to the indirectly heating section arranged in the evaporating and condensing machine.

SOLUTION: The wastewater treatment method of the wastewater including at least an aqueous coating material has an evaporating and condensing step for evaporating the water containing components of low boiling points in the wastewater and condensing the components of high boiling points by the evaporating and condensing machine having the indirectly heating section for heating the wastewater, the chemical agents having nonvolatile counter ions for neutralising the charge of the resin is added to the wastewater during the evaporating and condensing step.
