The bearing (1) has diagonally engaged rolling bodies (6) e.g. taper rollers, arranged between inner and outer bearing rings (4, 5) and unrolled on tracks of the bearing rings. A clamping apparatus adjusts axial tension of the bearing. The clamping apparatus has a piezoactuator (8) acting on the clamping apparatus for axial displacement of one of the bearing rings with axial force (19). The piezoactuator is arranged within the bearing outer ring. The piezoactuator and a thrust washer (9) are axially arranged in a radial groove (18) of the bearing ring adjacent to each other. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling an axial tolerance of an angular roller bearing.
