POWER TRANSMISSION DEVICE FOR ELECTRIC VEHICLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power transmission device for an electric vehicle which disposes a motor in a direction perpendicular to a wheel shaft so as to easily transmit the rotative power of the motor to an axle when the motor can not be disposed in a direction coinciding with that of the wheel shaft due to a layout design.

SOLUTION: The power transmission device for an electric vehicle includes: the wheel shaft disposed so that the shaft is oriented in a transverse direction of the vehicle; the motor disposed at a predetermined angle relative to the wheel shaft so that whose shaft is oriented in a longitudinal direction of the vehicle; and a coupling for coupling the wheel shaft with the motor shaft to transmit the rotative power of the motor to the wheel shaft.
