<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanner capable of carrying out stable optical scanning without increasing consumption power and noise. <P>SOLUTION: An optical scanner comprises two flow control walls 2403 which are provided near a polygon mirror 2104, and reverse an air flow generated by rotations of a reflection surface of the polygon mirror 2104 in a direction toward the reflection surface. Therefore, dirt on the reflection surface of the polygon mirror 2104 is avoided, and the blowing of hot air to a scanning lens and the like can be suppressed. A windage loss is decreased, and electric power required for high-speed rotations of the polygon mirror 2104 can be reduced. Furthermore, a fan for cooling air is not required, so that the increase of consumption power and noise can be suppressed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
