PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a display with touch detection functions capable of speeding up a response to touch operation.

SOLUTION: A display with touch detection functions comprises: multiple common drive electrodes that are arranged in parallel in a unidirectionally-extending manner; a display element for executing display based on a pixel signal and a display driving signal Vcomd; a touch detection element for detecting an external proximity object based on a touch detection driving signal Vcomt; and a scanning drive part for executing both first scanning drive that sequentially applies the display driving signal to the multiple common drive electrodes in a time-sharing manner and second scanning drive that sequentially applies the touch detection driving signal to the multiple common drive electrodes in a time-sharing manner. The scanning drive part executes the second scanning drive at a faster speed than the first scanning drive, and when the common drive electrodes selected as target of the first scanning drive are overlapped with those selected as target of the second scanning drive, it applies the display driving signal to the overlapped common drive electrodes.
