PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for reducing the depth of a connector.

SOLUTION: A connector 1 for connecting a flexible flat cable (FFC) 4 to a circuit board 5 comprises: a plurality of signal contacts 6; a ground contact 10; and a housing 8. The signal contacts 6 are aligned so as to be in contact with respective signal terminals 2 of the FFC 4. The ground contact 10 is in contact with a ground terminal 3 of the FFC 4. The housing 8 holds the plurality of signal contacts 6 and the ground contact 10. A first distance D1 to a contact of the signal contact 6 with the signal terminal 2 and a second distance D2 to a contact of the ground contact 10 with the ground terminal 3 from a back face 51 of the housing 8 in an insertion/extraction direction of the FFC 4 into/from the connector 1 are substantially equal to each other.
