PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display medium in which adhesion force between a gap member and a substrate is enhanced compared with a case of not having the gap member and a holding layer.

SOLUTION: The display medium 10 has a configuration where the gap member 24 has a first section 24A projecting to a crossing direction at one end of the gap member 24 in a facing direction of the substrate. A holding layer 26 that holds one end of the gap member 24 at a display substrate 20 side is formed on a face of the display substrate 20 facing the rear substrate 22. The holding layer 26 is charged in a gap formed between a face of the display substrate 20 facing the rear substrate 22 and an end face of the gap member 24 at a side facing the display substrate 20, and is formed in continuation so as to surround the first section 24A from an end face of the gap member 24 facing the display substrate 20.
