METHOD FOR PROCESSING LEATHER, LEATHER MATERIAL, AND LEATHER PRODUCT PRODUCED USING THE LEATHER MATERIAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for processing leather that enables efficient and effective discrimination of an authentic product from an imitation product.

SOLUTION: In a leather production step, such as a tanning step, a dyeing/fatliquoring step, and a finishing step, a solvent containing at least one stable isotope selected from carbon, oxygen, hydrogen and nitrogen at a ratio exceeding the natural abundance ratio is used for processing. The processed leather material contains the stable isotope at a ratio exceeding the natural abundance ratio.
