The present invention addresses the problem of providing an optical isomer having the stronger activity of a compound that is stronger than conventional steroids or NSAIDs. The problem was resolved by discovering that an optical isomer of a particular dihydroxy body (17,18-dihydroxy eicosapentaenoic acid (17,18-diHEPE), or the like) of docosahexaenoic acid and eicosapentaenoic acid that was not heretofore known has neutrophil suppression activity. The optical isomer of the compound is a substance that has not been conventionally known. Consequently, the present invention provides utility as a new therapeutic agent.
