STEREOSCOPIC IMAGE DATA GENERATION DEVICE AND STEREOSCOPIC IMAGE DATA GENERATION METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate stereoscopic image data for displaying an apparently clear stereoscopic image while reducing a data amount.

SOLUTION: There are provided: a pixel number detector 102 which detects a pixel number of stereoscopic image data including right-eye image data and left-eye image data; a header determination device 101 which determines a display order of the right-eye image data and the left-eye image data based on the stereoscopic image data; a sub-sampling device 104 which generates low resolution image data by reducing a pixel number of high-resolution image data which is stereoscopic image data based on the pixel number detected by the pixel number detector 102; and a sub-sampling controller 103 which makes the sub-sampling device 104 generate the low resolution image data so that the high-resolution image data and the low resolution image data are output alternately in at least any one of image data between the right-eye image data and the left-eye image data based on the determined display order.
