PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent directions of electric fields of adjacent pixels from being opposite to each other when driving pixels in a display device.

SOLUTION: When changing a gray-scale of a pixel, an electrophoresis display device applies a voltage to a pixel electrode 13a for a plurality of times. When newly changing a gray-scale of a pixel adjacent to a pixel being under changing of its gray-scale, if an electric field exerted to the pixel under gray-scale changing and an electric field to be exerted to the pixel to be newly changed in the gray-scale are in opposite directions, the display device 100 starts the process of changing the gray-scale of the pixel to be newly changed in the gray-scale after completion of the process of changing the gray-scale of the pixel under the process of changing the gray-scale.
