<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device that performs cleaning with potential difference by using a roller member, maintains good cleaning performance for a long term, and has no possibility of smearing a back face of a sheet or the like. <P>SOLUTION: A belt cleaner 12 for cleaning an intermediate transfer belt 11 includes brush rollers 52 and 62, recovery rollers 53 and 63, and a control unit 45 for applying voltages to them. During execution of a print job, a normal cleaning mode is conducted for applying voltages with the same polarity to the brush roller 52 (62) and the recovery roller 53 (63). When it is not under execution of a print job, a roller cleaning mode is conducted for applying a voltage to the recovery roller 53 (63) with a polarity different from that in the case of normal cleaning mode, wherein an absolute value of the difference of the voltages of the brush roller 52 (62) and the recovery roller 53 (63) exceeds a discharge starting voltage. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
